At the initial appointment Jo will gather some information and a history
from the client. Some of this information may be general and some
specifically related to the main issue/concern/problem.
A flexible treatment plan may be developed where Jo uses evidence
based therapies and techniques e.g. Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT),
Mindfulness Cognitive Therapy or Relaxation Techniques in building
strategies to assist her clients. Some psychometric tests or assessments
may be administered to offer further insight into a clients' issues.
Ultimately, Jo aims to create a sense of empowerment in her clients,
regarding their treatment. It is important that clients become motivated
and proactively involved and they are invited to provide feedback
on their treatment goals and progress.
The number of sessions required and the duration between sessions
can vary depending on the presenting issue.
