A client may be eligible to obtain a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP)
from their General Practitioner (GP). This can entitle them to a rebate
from Medicare for a proportion of the psychology consultation fee.
A second option is to utilise Private Health benefits to access a
rebate (the amount will vary depending on the Health Fund). A medical
referral (MHCP) is not always necessary.
Fees are guided by the national schedule of recommended rates of the
Australian Psychological Society ($251 per 50min. session). My discounted full fee rate is much less than recommended.
As of July 2019 my full fee is $160.00*.
I also offer a concession rate of $111.00 if a client
has a government concession card. Consideration for the concession rate may be given to others if there are financial difficulties and their GP requests so in writing on the Medicare MHCP. Fees need to be paid in full (either $160 or $111.00) on the day of the session. Currently the Medicare Rebate that you will receive back (with a current Medicare MHCP) is $86.15.
Be Happy Psychology practice offers eftpos, and
HICAPS facilities for payments.
For individuals who are NDIS or Department of Veteran Affairs clients or on
RTWSA or involved with Third Party Claims, the participating government dept, support agency, legal firm or insurance
company will be charged the recommended fee.
*Fees current as of July 2019
